Welcome Spring!

Welcome Spring!

It has been a long time coming!  Winter was harsh this year, kids and I had 7 snow days. Which we  really enjoy being home together baking and playing games
Springtime is when we are at our best! Spending days getting muddy while cleaning up the yard. Listening to birds sing. Planning our garden- can almost taste the 1st red tomato

We have already started our seeds for the year.
This year we upped our grow space with buying 2 of these Greenhouses, we had originally been using a small table top type greenhouse. But with our needs and hopes of selling some of our produce at farmers markets we had expand- with in the space allowed. We also use  Seedling Heat Mats and Grow lights that we found on clearance at Walmart.

We have had great success with ours mall simple greenhouses. Keeping it uncomplicated and manageable allows us not to become overwhelmed.
Couple of tips:
Always by Garden items during end of season clearance! We got all our seed starting pots at Dollar General  $0.25 for a pack of 5 trays.
Use a timer for your lights and Heat Mats- this will save alot of money! The don't really need to be on 24/7
A clip style desk fan- this will help circulate the air prevent mold and the movement will help make the plants stronger.

My Daughters Sunflowers
Overachievers- Random Gourds
Tomatoes

So far we have 10 different variety of peppers, 5 different  tomatoes, tomatillos gourds and pumpkins tobacco and herbs.
Countless amounts of Flowers!

HAPPY SPRING!
